FILCOLS’ Napoleon Almonte, Licensing Officer and Beverly Siy, Membership and Documentation Officer, attended the High Level Forum on Access to Technology for Innovation held last March 22 and 23 at the Peninsula Manila Hotel, Makati City.
The Keynote Speaker was no other than the Director General of the Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organization, Mr. Francis Gurry.
More than one hundred individuals attended the event. Most of them were from research universities, research institutions and corporations. The speakers were experts from the local, regional and international scene.
Some of the topics that were discussed: Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Funding Innovation, Recent Dissemination Policy of Industrial Property Information, Fostering Innovation in the Private Sector, Utilizing Technology for Nation Building, WIPO’s Innovation and Technology Support Project, ITSO Online Community of Patent Information Users, Enabling the Resource Poor to Access Technologies.
FILCOLS member Jackie Morta, the head of the University Research Center of De La Salle University Dasmarinas, Cavite also joined the forum.
This event was organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.
