FILCOLS Members win in the 2011 National Book Awards

FILCOLS congratulates all the FILCOLS members who won in the 30th National Book Awards.

UST Publishing House won “Publisher of the Year” Award.

FILCOLS Board of Trustees member Charlson Ong snatched the National Book Award for Fiction for his “Blue Angel, White Shadow: A Novel” (UST Publishing House).

“Sagad sa Buto: Hospital Diary at Iba Pang Sanaysay” (UST Publishing House) by FILCOLS member Romulo P. Baquiran, Jr. won the National Book Award for Non-Fiction Prose.

For the Social Science category - “Sanghiyang sa Mundo ng Internet” by Cavite-based FILCOLS member Rhoderick Nuncio (Vibal Foundation, Inc.) emerged as the winner.

The awarding ceremony was held last 12 November 2011 at the National Museum, Manila.
National Book Awards is organized by the Manila Critics Circle and National Book Development Board.

FILCOLS Members-Publishers produced award-winning books such as:

“If I Write This Poem, Will You Make It Fly” (Ateneo University Press) by Simeon Dumdum, Jr. for Poetry category

“Celebrations: A Culinary Feast from the Roces-Reyes Table” (Anvil Publishing)
by Karla Prieto Delgado, Gianna Reyes Montinola, Cristina Roces Garcia, Ginny Roces de Guzman, Sylvia Roces Montilla and Vicky Veloso Barrera for Leisure category.

“To Give and Not Count the Cost: Ateneans Inspiring Ateneans 1859-2009” (Ateneo University Press) by Rodolfo P. Ang, Nancy Pe Rodrigo and Maricor E. Baytion; design by Felix Mago Miguel for Design category.
