TRIBUNEONLINE.ORG'S World Book and Copyright Day’s summer slam

The National Book Development Board (NBDB) presented writing grants for the first time ever from the NBDB Trust Fund to three winning writers. They are Mercedes Planta, Ph.D. for \"Traditional Medicine in Colonial Philippines, 16th to the 19th Centuries\" (health and wellness category); Ma. Florina Orillos-Juan, Ph.D. for \"Kasaysayan at Vulnerabilidad: Ang Kabihasnan at Lipunang Pilipino sa Harap ng Pananalanta ng Balang 1569-1949\" (environment and biodiversity category); and Antonio Enriquez for his novel The Siege of Fort Pilar (novel category, originally written in English/originally written in a regional language and translated to English).
